Project Overview

The scope for this project is in its planning phase and will begin build in 2025. It includes the construction of a two-story building located in the southern part of the campus, in the current playfield area. The new two-story building is comprised of:

  • 20 standard-size classrooms;
  • 3 moderate-severe special day class (SDC) classrooms with restroom facilities and workroom;
  • 2 transitional kindergarten (TK) classrooms with restroom facilities;
  • 2 lab-size classrooms; and
  • 1 large MPR, staff lounge, library, and dedicated restrooms for the students and staff.

While the library has its prominent façade and entry from the public street, it has a visual connection to the courtyard that can be used for school-wide assemblies and outdoor learning environments.

Site improvements include the reconfiguration and redesign of the entire parking lot to provide drop-off and pass-through lanes to alleviate traffic congestion from the public street and a dedicated parents and visitors parking lot on the northeastern part of the campus.  The southern parking lot is reserved for staff parking and bus drop-off/pick-up area for SDC students with its own entry/exit driveway approach.

Individualized playground structures create a transitional hardscape from the courtyard to the playground area with multiple basketball courts. Also, a new playfield with benches will be provided after the portable village is demolished and the students are moved into their new building.
